The BIG reveal day is here at last.......

Let me begin with a big thank you. First to Lori Anderson of  www.PrettyThingsBlog.com  for organizing so many people all over the world and helping us to push our creative limits.  Second to Sally Anderson at www.wildsallyroad.blogspot.com for taking a chance on a second partner and sending me an amazing bead soup. I really can not say thank you to these amazing women enough. Also to my husband who knows how "focused" I can become and to Pam for letting me use her wrist. So here are the results.......

Picture A (PA)

Picture B (PB)
I chose to focus on creating two necklaces. One (PB lower right) more extravagant then the second (PA upper right). In the main necklace I used the focal, clasp, and many of the smaller beads that were sent to me. I enjoyed using them because I have never used a focal/clasp of this type before. The beads were of different shapes (square/rectangle/round) that I had used separately but never in the same piece. The colors were amazing all from the turquoise family with many having veins of blues, yellows and greens. From my stash I added round jade beads (PA lower left) to bring out the green tones and white coral spacers. Since I had no turquoise in my stash I headed to my local second hand store (the main craft stores just did not have what I wanted) and found a broken necklace with plain round turquoise beads and brown beads (PB horizontal pics).  I chose to keep the design simple to not take away from the colors or focal.

For the second necklace (PA top right and top middle) I wanted to create something that would compliment the first necklace and be functional. It is very simple,so much so that while beading it I dropped everything three times and had to start from the beginning two of those times. This necklace can be worn alone, with the first necklace or as a bracelet (PB 3rd from left).

If you have a second please leave a comment I know we are all going to be busy hopping from blog to blog. Also please visit  http://lorianderson-beadsoupblogparty.blogspot.com/ for the full list of participants.

  26. what a great way to show off that lovely focal. You did a great job with all the shapes. I am sure you will try that again. I like how the white really added something. White is a color I do not use often. Maybe I need to give it a try. I think it made a big difference here.
